We have historically used the pattern set in the New Testament to determine how our church should be governed by having a Minister and elders.

Recently the church determined to become an incorporated organisation, and adopted a revised constitution, that appoints only elders, who constitute the Church Board, assisted by functionally gifted persons who may assume roles such as secretary or treasurer without being on the eldership.

ELDERS

THE ELDERS are responsible for the spiritual oversight of the congregation, the pastoral care of its people and the governance of the church doctrinally and morally. They meet monthly and as the need arises. Elders are elected  for a term, typically of three years. The eldership currently comprises

  • Lawrie Carroll
  • Phil Daniels (Secretary)
  • Doug Grant (Treasurer)
  • Pam Mason
  • Elaine Meers
  • Robert Myers (Chair of Church Board)

MINISTER

The Minister oversees the elders and is responsible for the pulpit.

  • We welcomed Pastor Alan Baker as Interim Minister from March 2024.

CONGREGATION

The Council reports to the  congregation throughout the year informally but formally at its AGM or whenever there is a need to adopt a formal recommendation.
